Painting to Mozart –Concerto #21
By the Krause Children

This beautiful work of art was created by the children residing at the Krause Residential Treatment Center in Katy. The Krause Center is managed by Lutheran Social Services and located at 5638 Medical Center Drive in Katy. The center provides a home to children ages 12-17 under child protective custody and in the foster care system. These children are undergoing treatment for depression and/or are suffering from emotional and behavioral problems often related to the effects of abuse, abandonment or neglect.

This painting represents the collaborative work of 60 children. The bold colors and flowing image was inspired by Mozart’s Concerto #21. This Katy ARTreach project utilizes expressive art techniques to teach children about the world of music and art.

The children of the Krause Center have donated this painting to the Katy Performing Arts Society to help raise money to fund new programs. It is a thank you gift for KPAS continuous support and encouragement. Each year KPAS donates concert tickets to the Krause children, opening the door to the enchanting world of classical chamber music ensembles and opera presentations.

This is a gift of music, art and appreciation.

Title of Painting: Mozart’s Concerto #21 is currently on display at the offices of Extreme Technolgies, Inc. on loan by Craig and Lisa Guidry of Katy
