Residents of Sunrise Assisted Living Community and Providence Senior Living Community are invited to join ARTreach and our volunteers for a Art Day of Caring at Ceramics By Tess located in the Times Square Shopping Center, 402 W Grand Parkway S. Katy, TX 77494 (Grand Parkway/near 1-10) on Wednesday, September 26, 10:00 a.m. We will be sharing time with new friends in this art outreach befitting seniors living in Katy. We have invited the residents of Sunrise Assisted Living in Cinco Ranch and Providence Senior Living Community who are making a transition into a new life in Katy. Making new friends and feeling connected to their new home is an important part of the healthy transition and lifestyle.  Thank you for supporting ARTreach and our newest outreach program that offers companionship and friendship to the elderly at Ceramics by Tess. Thank you to our Studio Partner of the Year, Ceramics by Tess, for donating one hundred hours of studio time and professional consultation to ARTreach to help us serve children at risk and the elderly in Katy. Other Programs Serving the Elderly through the Arts that are in need of volunteers! Weaving New Relationships at Sunrise Assisted Living at Cinco Ranch. We are looking for volunteers, including high school students in need of community service hours that would love to spend time developing a new friendship with a senior resident in care. “Friends Looming” is an ongoing ARTreach activity that volunteers can sign up for one hour a week. Our volunteer will be paired with a resident in need of new friend in the community. We have a professional loom installed on site. This engaging activity offers a great opportunity to get to know each other as you create beautiful loom weavings and textiles projects you can return to each week.
