Past and Future Objectives
Past Year’s Achievements
Our organization directly impacts over 1,000 people through our mentors and art-related programs supporting troubled youth, children at risk, victims of crime, children with special needs, adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, and the elderly in Katy and surrounding Harris and Fort Bend County. Katy ARTreach programs reached as many as 10,000 more individuals through audience-based ARTreach programs and cultural arts presentations in underserved schools, lock down facilities and community centers. Our successes have been widely publicized in local newspapers and magazines.
Future Objectives
As the population of Katy and Harris and Fort Bend counties increases, so does the need for ARTreach programs and services in other areas. Numerous requests for art mentors and high impact art programs aimed at children at risk and troubled youth in Texas are requiring our organization’s immediate attention. Subsidiary branches are supporting programs being piloted across Texas and nationally in California, Florida and Tennessee. International projects are being piloted in the Philippines, Mexico, Hong Kong and Africa.
As we advance into our 6th year of operation, we are actively expanding our art educational services, and continue to make progress in designing innovative programs that address gang alternative interventions, and drug abuse awareness and prevention through the arts. These programs support education, juvenile justice, and safe and drug free schools and communities. ARTreach is raising the funds, recruiting and training the mentors and teaching artists needed to deliver these programs to our targeted populations.
